February recap

Just the preparation of this cycle - summary of the month - shows me how quickly they are moving from one into another and how intensive they can be at times. Let's take February for example. You might say, it is the shortest month of the year, but together with my husband we have managed to take 3 big trips, paint the room in the apartment, buy a new desk and finish all the legal and formal parts of opening my company.

We have finished February in a grand way - a wonderful trip to Venice. 8 days filled with sun, laziness, sleeping out all the short nights before and stuffing our bellies with ice cream and pizzas. And I am sure it did us good. Now, well - rested, I can face another month, which doesn't seem to become less intensive than February:).

The best trip of the month: Venice

The best book of the month: The little book of thinking big, Richard Newton

The best cosmetic discover of the month: lipstick Revlon

***

Luty zakończyliśmy z przytupem w postaci cudownej wycieczki do Wenecji.

Najlepsza książka miesiąca: The little book of thinking big, Richard Newton

Najlepsze kosmetyczne odkrycie miesiąca: pomadki Revlon

In February, Berlin enthused us with a blue sky and very spring-like air. / Berlin w lutym zachwycał błękitnym niebem oraz iście wiosennym powietrzem.

I definitely had a crush on dresses and colours this month:) / W tym miesiącu naprawdę miałam ochotę na sukienki oraz kolory:)

My obsession with stripes is in full swing:) /  A paskowe szaleństwo trwa w najlepsze:).

This month I fell in love with curls and intensive colours of my lipsticks.

Last portion of Venice through my eyes. / I ostatnia już porcja Wenecji widzianej moimi oczami.

Italian lifestyle. What is their secret?

We are in Italy for the third time. First Rome, then it was Sicily, and now we are in Venice. And even though we still haven't left this country with the shape of a boot, we are already planning the next trip:). Because this place, these people, this atmosphere have something magnetic and fascinating.

But what? What is it exactly? In the last few days, I started to look and observe Italians more carefully. The way their walk, wear clothes, spend their free time, eat and talk, just to even understand this in a fracture and catch their secret and recipe for a happy and stress free life.

1. Colours / Kolory

Italy will forever stand for a few colours for me. Yellow - like the south sun and pastas, green - like olives, basylicum and all the other spices, red - like bolognese sauce and italian temperament, blue - like the sea and the sky.

And I am sure that I am not the only one, who believes that colour is everything. Wherever you look around, you'll see and feel colours. Intensive not obvious combinations everywhere. It could be a building or the inside of a restaurant, or flowers in the windows, or colorful scarfs, or blue suits, or a red fishing boat. The colours here are everywhere! No wonder why Italians are so positive and happy. Colour gives energy for the full day!

2. There is time to work, there is time to relax / Jest czas na prace, jest czas na odpoczynek.

You might think that everyone is in a hurry here or rushing somewhere, because like everywhere - also here - people have work and obligations. But in comparison to us, they take the time to pause and drink a cappuccino. Little family cafés, with only a few tables on the outside terraces, always have local guests, who stop by only for a moment. To chat, to drink their coffee, to catch their breath and go further.

Male rodzinne kafejki z kilkoma stolikami na tarasie zawsze maja chocby kilku lokalnych gosci, ktorzy wpadli tylko na chwilke, by zamienic uprzejmosci, by zakosztowac espresso, by odsapnac i dalej ruszyc w droge.

3. I don't care what you think of me

How many times have we stopped on the streets because we heard loud laughter or chatting. And nobody cared what others would might think of them or if their style might be offensive, too loud or inappropriate. They are just themselves. Natural, with a million kind of gestures, loud, funny, open and honest.

4. Philosophy of food / Filozofia jedzenia

I could write and write about food:). Because who doesn't know Italian food. Pastas, pizza, tiramisu, wonderful cappuccino - which always wakes me up:), fresh herbs, tomatoes and olive oils. And everything so fresh.

And the secret is  simplicity. Who would ever say that a fresh baked baguette, sprinkled with olive oil, cheese, olives and fresh tomatoes could be the best lunch ever? Italians! Nobody counts calories here, nobody cares that you already had a spaghetti for lunch so the next piece of pizza might be not such a good idea. O no. Because food here is a ritual. Nobody hurries - dinners might even take up to 3 hours full of food, loud music, family conversations and red wine. Here, a meal is a form of spending your time. A pleasure, which is not only a bodily need.

O tym punkcie mozna by pisac i pisac. Bo ktoz nie zna wloskiego jedzenia. Makarony, pizze, tiramissu, cudowne cappuccino, ktore zawsze postawi mnie na nogi, swieze przyprawy, pomidory, ktore az pachna oraz oliwa z oliwek. Wszystko jest takie cudownie swieze i doprawione.

A sekret tkwi w prostocie.

5. Taking care of yourself / Dbanie o siebie

With huge pleausre I have been sitting on a terrace yesterday and watching women and men passing by. Well taken care of, wearing the best of the best. Simplicity and elegance! And little devils were hidden in details such as colourful gloves, leather bags or red lipsticks.

And it was all so simple and... just because!

Prostota i elegancja!
